What is XLA?

X-linked agammaglobulinemia 
(a-gam-uh-glob-u-lih-NEE-me-uh) was discovered in 1952 by Dr. Ogden Bruton. Patients lack the ability to to produce antibodies, proteins vital to the body's defense against pathogens like bacteria or viruses.
